May 16 – 21 has been designated as teh 48th Annual National Small Business Week. The week is much more than a Presidential proclamation, it’s a time to acknowledge and celebrate small business owners and their accomplishments. According to the Small Business Administration, there are over 27 Million small businesses in America, and they account for 60-80 percent of the new jobs created, clearly, a big part of this nation’s economy as well as its recovery from the recession.
Last year’s Small Business Week saw a great deal of events hosted by the SBA, including a town hall meeting, awards ceremonies, reception, social media symposium, forums and a formal gala.
