Google just announced the launch of a new online community designed to teach women entrepreneurs about growing their presence online. Women Entrepreneurs on the Web (WeOW) offers participants free web optimization services for their women-owned business. Google intends to teach first-time and experienced internet users alike how to build an online presence, engage customers, track metrics and optimize their web presence.
Essentially, WeOW acts as free web and social media coaching for those of any experience level. Those businesses without any web presence can use the initiative to help them buy a domain, create their website and build a strong online presence. Those already with a web site will learn how to get the most out of it through optimization. Best of all, the program is free to those accepted. Google says that it helps to coach 10,000 women in India over the next two years.
The one downside: WeOW is currently only available in India as a pilot program. However, interested entrepreneurs outside of the country can register to be notified when the service expands. The Women Entrepreneurs on the Web site is already active. Be sure to visit the site, read over the FAQs and register for future updates.
