AT&T Spends $2 Billion with M/W/DBEs in California Alone

Yesterday AT&T announced that the communications corporation spent $2 billion with diverse suppliers, just in the state of California, in 2011. Not surprisingly, this continues the trend of year-over-year supplier diversity spending in that state and is a significant increase from the previous year. “We’re pleased to be doing business with local minority, women, and disabled veteran-owned businesses and at the same time supporting California’s economy,” said Ken McNeely, President of AT&T California. “It’s paramount to AT&T that we help sustain and grow California jobs at a time when our state needs them most.”

Nationally, AT&T has significantly increased its California supplier diversity spending year-over-year. Nationally, AT&T spent more than $12 billion with diverse suppliers in 2011. AT&T has one of the longest-running and largest supplier diversity programs in the country, and has been a part of the Billion Dollar Roundtable since it was founded in 2001.

Read more about this milestone from the official AT&T press release.
