Allstate Executive Discusses Value of College Scholarships, Announces new Program

In a recent article, Allstate’s Senior Vice President of Procurement Cheryl Harris discusses her role at Allstate and the company’s commitment to pledge $150,000 to a scholarship fund for students attending historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). It’s a nice interview with Ms. Harris and addresses the lack of educational funding available to many students. Her take on procurement and supplier diversity are also good and straight-forward explanations. “What we do all day every day is what I call professional shopping.” It’s also nice to hear that the procurement team at Allstate includes about 80 people.
