The Coca-Cola Company recently honored a group of both internal and external partners for their contributions to the company’s supplier diversity program. Held on July 19th, the Partners in Promise awards included six categories: the Chairman’s Supplier Diversity Award, Outstanding Leadership Award, Buyer of the Year Award, Advocate of the Year Award, Champion of the Year Award, and Partners in the Promise Award.
Supplier diversity at Coca-Cola has blossomed since 2000, when the company committed to spend $800 million with M/WBEs over the course of five years. The company spent over $1 billion in that time period and spent $766 million with M/WBEs in 2011 alone. “When we spend money in the communities where we do business, the people in those communities reciprocate by spending money with us. Everyone wins when we work together,” says Ron Lewis, Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer at The Coca-Cola Company.
More information about the Partners in Promise Awards, incuding winners, are available in the company’s official press release.
